Road to Rio: Mariel Zagunis’s Olympic journey

Mariel Zagunis gave the United States its first gold medal in fencing in 100 years when she topped the podium in Athens back in 2004. Now she’s the most decorated fencer in American history.

In the latest installment of Road to Rio, Zagunis recounts her journey to becoming an Olympian and following in the footsteps of her parents.

Highlights: Russians dominate women’s figure skating

As everyone predicted, the women’s figure skating competition in PyeongChang came down to a pair of Russians: 15-year-old Alina Zagitova and 18-year-old Evgenia Medvedeva.
