DAYTON, OHIO -Junior Robinson scored 23 points and freshman Miles Wilson added 17 to lead Mount St. Mary’s to a thrilling, 67-66 First Four win over New Orleans. Escaping on the game’s final possession, the Mountaineers advanced to meet the tournament’s top seed and defending national champion Villanova, Thursday in Buffalo.
Mount St. Mary’s led by as many as 11 points in the first half, and led 32-29 at intermission. The Privateers erased the deficit to lead 64-63 with 1:48 to play on free throws by Christavious Gill. Robinson’s jumper staked the Mountaineers to a 65-64 advantage, and free throws by Wilson, with 1:04 remaining, gave The Mount a three-point cushion. UNO’s Nate Frye hit two free throws with 34 seconds remaining to pull the Privateers within one for the final margin. Frye led the Privateers with 18 points.
