SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Eighth-seeded Northwestern is set to make history on Thursday: The Evanston school was one of only five original NCAA Division I men’s basketball programs–not to mention the only one from a “Power Five” conference–to never make it to the NCAA Tournament… until this year, that is.
Chris Collins’s Wildcats–led by junior guards Bryant McIntosh and Scottie Lindsey–are hoping to turn their momentous trip into a monumental run. But to do so, they will first have to answer the bell against a peaking Vanderbilt squad under first year head coach Scott Drew.
Kevin Kugler and Dan Dickau caught up with Chris Collins ahead of the huge First Round game in Salt Lake City.
