Orlando Preview: Florida and Florida State look to defend their state dominance against Virginia and Xavier

03/18/2017

ORLANDO, FL – The University of Florida has won two NCAA basketball titles, their rival Seminoles have not won any. But they’ll be ignoring the rivalry for this weekend at least, as each first has to dispatch Virginia and Xavier, respectively, to keep their title dreams alive into the Sweet 16.

The Cavaliers will be trying to get themselves over the hump, as head coach Tony Bennett has had top-ranked teams the past few years fall short of the Final Four. They’ll face the Gators at 8:40 PM ET, after the Seminoles and Musketeers tangle first at 6:10 PM.

Tom McCarthy and Will Perdue will have the call from the Amway Center in Orlando.
