Interview: South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley talks growth of women’s game, Gamecocks program


DALLAS, TX – As a Virginia Cavaliers player, Dawn Staley made it to three consecutive Women’s Final Fours, including the National Championship game in 1991.  Twenty-six years later, she returns to the final, this time as the head coach of SEC double-champion South Carolina.

With the national title on the line Sunday, her Gamecocks will face a familiar foe in second-seeded Mississippi State, in a rematch of the SEC Tournament championship game.

Debbie Antonelli caught up with Dawn Staley ahead of the big game.
