NEW YORK, NY – In the first semifinal, Utah’s Tyler Rawson hit two big go-ahead three-pointers in the second half, while fellow transfer-senior Justin Bibbins went 12-of-12 from the charity stripe to help their Utes complete a 13-point comeback and edge past Western Kentucky 69-64. In the nightcap, Penn State cruised from the get-go on its way to a 75-60 rout of Mississippi State. The second-seeded Utes and fourth-seeded Nittany Lions will return to Madison Square Garden on Thursday night to square off for the NIT title.
