EUGENE, OR (11/19/11) – USC ran out to a huge lead over Oregon on Saturday night then held on – barely – as Oregon tried to stage a huge 4th-quarter rally.
USC (9-2) led 38-14 with 3:28 to go in the third quarter when Matt Barkley hit Randall Telfer for a five-yard score, but Oregon (9-2) went with a reverse on the ensuing kickoff and De’Anthony Thomas ran the kick back 96 yards for a touchdown.
Oregon got to within three at 38-35, but missed a 37-yard field goal to tie the game as time expired.
