DENVER – Tebow Time is alive and well, as the Denver quarterback hit Demaryius Thomas on the first play of overtime to give the Broncos a 29-23 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tebow threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another as Denver recovered from a late Steelers rally to win the game in overtime.
The game marked the first-ever played under the postseason “modified sudden-death” format, but the 80-yard touchdown on the first play of the extra period made the rule change a moot point. Denver will now play New England in the division round next Saturday night.
Kevin Harlan and Dan Fouts called the action on the Westwood One Radio Network.
