COLUMBUS, OH – Michigan State’s stifling defense held Ohio State to 26% shooting from the field as the Spartans cruised to a 58-48 victory over the Buckeyes on Saturday evening.
Adreian Payne led Michigan State with 15 points as the Spartans (20-5, 9-3) moved into a tie with Ohio State (21-4, 9-3) in the Big Ten standings.
Jared Sullinger had 17 points and 16 rebounds for the Buckeyes, but also committed a game-high 10 turnovers. The loss for Ohio State snapped a 39-game home winning streak.
