PITTSBURGH, PA – Deshaun Thomas scored a career-high 31 points, and pulled down 12 rebounds for good measure, leading 2nd-seeded Ohio State to a comfortable, 78-59 victory over 15th-seeded Loyola-Maryland.
William Buford added 17 for the Buckeyes, while Jared Sullinger recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Erik Etherly came off the bench to score a team-high 19 points for the Greyhounds.
Ohio State will meet 7th-seeded Gonzaga in 3rd-round action on Saturday.
