PITTSBURGH, PA – A back-and-forth battle between Ohio State and Gonzaga finally went the Buckeyes’ way, thanks to a 12-5 run to close out the game, as OSU earned a 73-66 win.
Despite not registering a single bench point the entire game, Ohio State was paced by a quartet of Buckeye starters who scored in double-figures. Jared Sullinger and Deshaun Thomas led the way, who scored 18 points apiece.
Gary Bell, Jr. led Gonzaga with 18 points, but star center Robert Sacre had a quiet game, scoring only 8 points, as he was outshined by Sullinger in the highly-anticipated matchup of big men.
Scott Graham and Kevin Grevey called the action on the Westwood One Radio Network.
