East Regional 3rd Round: (4) Wisconsin 60 – (5) Vanderbilt 57

03/17/2012

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Quietly and unassumingly, Bo Ryan has the Wisconsin Badgers back in the Sweet 16 yet again.

The Badgers appeared headed for a comfortable victory over Vanderbilt after building a ten-point lead in the second half, but the Commodores fought back to take a 57-56 lead late in regulation.  But Wisconsin responded with a clutch three off the fingertips of Jordan Taylor, and eventually held on for a 60-57 victory.  The Badgers will face top-seeded Syracuse in the Sweet 16.

Taylor led a balanced Wisconsin attack with 14 points, as five Badgers scored in double-figures altogether.  Festus Ezeli paced the Vanderbilt attack with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Dave Sims and Michael Cage called the action on the Westwood One Radio Network.
