PORTLAND, OR – Through the first dozen games of the season, Rick Pitino’s Louisville Cardinals looked nothing short of a juggernaut, boasting a 12-0 record.
And then the wheels came off.
The Cardinals endured stretches of 2-5 and 2-4 starting at the turn of the new year, but re-discovered their groove in recent weeks, and earned the Big East Tournament championship with a victory over Cincinnati.
Kevin Calabro sat down with Pitino ahead of 4th-seeded Louisville’s third-round battle against 5th-seeded New Mexico in the West regional on Saturday night.
