ATLANTA, GA – The Kentucky Wildcats were forced to endure constant replays of their heartbreaking loss at Indiana as one of the marquee moments of the college basketball regular season.
Friday night, the Wildcats exacted their long-awaited revenge.
The top overall seed in this year’s tournament continued their march towards a national title, with a 102-90 thumping of Indiana in the South Regional semifinals. Kentucky’s offensive output marks just the 13th time in NCAA Tournament history that a team reached the 100-point threshold. The Wildcats will face Baylor for the right to advance to the Final Four.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led UK with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Doron Lamb added 21 for the Wildcats. Christian Watford led all scorers with 27 for Indiana, and Cody Zeller added 20 points with 7 rebounds.
