OMAHA — Johnny Field’s RBI double plated the go-ahead run and Arizona held on to defeat Florida State 4-3 in 12 innings on Friday night at the College World Series.
The Wildcats led 2-o early, but John Holland tied the game at 3-3 for the Seminoles with a 2-out, 2-RBI double in the 6th.
That’s the way it would stay until Field’s game-winning hit.
Arizona moves into the winner’s bracket and will play UCLA on Sunday evening. Florida State will now face Stony Brook Sunday afternoon in an elimination game.
Kevin Kugler and John Bishop called the action.
