OMAHA — Michael Roth threw a two-hitter as South Carolina eliminated Kent State from the College World Series with a 4-1 victory on Thursday afternoon.
Roth retired the side in order in every inning but the second and finished the game having sat down 22 consecutive Kent State batters.
South Carolina will now play Arkansas on Thursday night. The teams met earlier in the CWS, with the Razorbacks earning a 2-1 win. South Carolina will need to win tonight and again on Friday to advance to the championship series.
