Team USA downs France in opening game

07/29/2012

LONDON – The U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team started slowly, leading France by just a single point after the first quarter of their opening game Sunday in London. But once they took off to start the second quarter, Team USA never looked back and cruised to a 98-71 win.

Kevin Durant scored 22 points in the victory and LeBron James chipped in 8 assists – and a key three-pointer that started an 11-0 American run at the start of the second quarter.
