JACKSONVILLE, FL – A late turnover thwarted the Florida Gators as they looked to be driving for a potential game-tying score. Georgia held on to defeat the previously unbeaten Gators 17-9.
Trailing by 8, Florida had driven inside the Georgia 20-yard line with just over two minutes to play when Jeff Driskel found Jordan Reed over the middle. Reed made a defender miss and turned for the end zone, but as he tried to leap for extra yardage, Bulldog defender Jarvis Jones knocked the ball loose and Georgia recovered in the endzone for a touchback.
John Tautges and Terry Donahue called the action on Westwood One Sports.
