The much-awaited game between Alabama and LSU is just a few days away. Everyone I know is really excited to see these two teams match up again. Lots of people are previewing the contest as possibly the best game of the year.
I, for one, just can’t bring myself to that point. Oh, I know LSU has the longest home winning streak in the country and that they are impossible to beat down there at night. I know the ghosts of yesterday come out and really strange things happen in Baton Rouge.
The Tigers have a really good defense and kicking game, but please! Nobody can beat the #1 team in the country with that kind of an offense. NOBODY. Not even LSU, at night, in Baton Rogue.
The most interesting argument going on right now is who the best #2 team in the country is if Notre Dame, Kansas State and Oregon all go undefeated the rest of the way. Now that’s a REAL problem for the BCS. A good case could be made for any one of the three. Although I doubt it will happen, it sure would be fun. I would love to hear the BCS’s spin on that one!!
