After suffering a tough overtime loss to Seattle last week, the Chicago Bears dropped into a first-place tie with Green Bay in the NFC North standings. The old rivals will get together for a showdown a week from today at Soldier Field.
But before all that, there’s the small matter of a pair of divisional games today. Green Bay hosts Detroit on Sunday Night Football and the Bears travel to Mall of America Field in Minneapolis to face a Minnesota Vikings team that’s 6-6 and needs to win to stay in the playoff hunt.
If Chicago is going to get the victory they need to put extra pressure on the Packers ahead of Sunday Night Football, they’ll need to do it without perennial All-Pro Brian Urlacher, who will miss the next several weeks with a hamstring injury.
For a preview of the game, our Mark Malone had a chance to speak with Urlacher’s replacement in the Bears defense, Nick Roach.
