Matt Ryan on the season so far, home-field advantage and more

12/22/2012

Hopes are sky high in Atlanta after the Falcons’ 34-0 whitewashing of the defending champion New York Giants last weekend – it was a far cry from the way Atlanta was dismissed last year in the playoffs by the Giants.

With the NFC South all wrapped up, the next goal for Atlanta is simple: beat the Detroit Lions on Saturday night and secure a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

Ahead of the game, our Jim Gray had a chance to speak with Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan.

Kevin Kugler, Trent Green and sideline reporter Hub Arkush will have complete coverage of the Falcons and the Lions from Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday night. It all kicks off with Jim Gray and weekly contributors Tom Brady and Larry Fitzgerald on the pregame show at 8 PM Eastern.
