Third-year wide receiver Golden Tate hauled in 45 passes and grabbed seven touchdowns for the 11-5 Seattle Seahawks, but chances are there is only one play that stands out to casual football fans: the disputed end-of-regulation touchdown that gave Seattle a 14-12 win over Green Bay. It was the final straw that got the NFL and locked-out officials to get together and make a deal.
It was also just one play in a wild season for the Seahawks, who missed out on an NFC West title and a first-round bye by just a half-game.
This Sunday, the Seahawks will travel east to take on the Washington Redskins in a Wild Card round game. Ahead of that contest, our Mark Malone had a chance to speak with Golden Tate about the play of Seahawks rookie Russell Wilson, the matchup with the ‘Skins and, of course, THAT catch.
