LANDOVER, MD – After falling behind 14-0 early, the Seattle Seahawks reeled off 24 unanswered points to beat Washington 24-14 and advance to a divisional round meeting with the NFC’s top seed, the Atlanta Falcons.
Robert Griffin III got the Redskins out of the gates quickly, tossing two first-quarter touchdown passes to take the lead. But Seattle answered back in the second quarter through a pair of Steven Hauschka field goals sandwiched around a Russell Wilson TD pass to Michael Robinson.
Marshawn Lynch’s 27-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter put Seattle ahead for good before Griffin was injured late while trying to rally his team. Griffin was hurt while trying to recover a low snap and would not return.
Dave Sims and James Lofton called the action on Westwood One Sports.
