BROOKLYN, NY – Up by just one point at the half, Virginia Commonwealth fought off a tenacious Massachusetts team, earning a 71-62 victory.
Troy Daniels came off the bench to lead VCU with a game-high 20 points. Forty-one of the Rams’ 71 total points came from reserves. Chaz Williams led UMass with 18 points.
VCU advances to Sunday’s Atlantic-10 Championship game against St. Louis.
