Miami-Marquette and Indiana-Syracuse in D.C.

03/28/2013

East Regional PreviewWASHINGTON, DC – Brackets were busted across America thanks to Florida Gulf Coast, La Salle and Wichita St. But at the East Regional, it’s all chalk. In action Thursday night, it’ll be #2 seed Miami against third-seeded Marquette and top-seeded Indiana taking on the fourth seed, Syracuse.

While the top four seeds all made it, the path to Washington D.C. wasn’t always easy. The Hoosiers didn’t put Temple away until the final minute, while Illinois stayed on Miami’s heels all night in the third round. Marquette survived a pair of scares – first with a one-point win over Davidson and then a down-to-the-wire contest against Butler. Syracuse had the easiest time last weekend in San Jose, with an obliteration of Montana and a win over Cal that wasn’t as close as the final score indicates.

So who will advance to the Final Four from D.C.? Ian Eagle and John Thompson will be on hand to call the games at the Verizon Center and they filed this preview of the action.
