MVC Championship Highlights: Creighton 68 – Wichita State 65


Doug McDermottST. LOUIS, MO – For the second straight season, the Creighton Bluejays will head from Arch Madness into March Madness, as they defeated Wichita State 68-65 Sunday in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship Game.

Jahenns Manigat led the Jays with 16 points – including a crucial basket with 11 seconds left to propel Creighton to victory. Doug McDermott was held to just 14 points, but was still named the tournament’s MVP.

Malcolm Armstead led all scorers with 28 in defeat for the Shockers, who pundits project will receive an at-large bid to the tournament as well.

Dave Ryan and Pete Gillen called the action on Westwood One Sports.
