DAYTON, OH – Temple opened up the game with a lead and never let go, defeating N.C. State 76-72 in their second round game on Friday. Led by 31 points from Khalif Whyatt and 7 of 9 shooting from Jake O’Brien (good for 18 points), the 9th-seeded Owls advanced to face the winner of James Madison and No. 1-seeded Indiana on Sunday.
Lorenzo Brown and CJ Leslie had a combined 42 points for the Wolfpack in the losing effort, closing out a disappointing year after being named the preseason favorite in the ACC.
