OKLAHOMA CITY – It was a year later than they wanted, but the Oklahoma Sooners are now the champions of college softball.
After falling in 2012 at this stage, Oklahoma finished off one of the best seasons in NCAA history with a 4-0 victory over Tennessee.
Sooners pitcher Michelle Gascoigne struck out 12 in a complete game shutout and National Player of the Year Keilani Ricketts drove in all four runs in the victory with a home run and an RBI grounder.
Oklahoma finished the season 57-4.
Kevin Kugler and Leah Amico called the action on Westwood One Sports.
