GLENDALE, AZ – Rashard Mendenhall’s 1-yard touchdown plunge with just more than two minutes to play gave the Arizona Cardinals a 25-21 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Trailing 21-13 after Deandre Levy’s interception return for a touchdown, the Cardinals rallied thanks to a pair of Jay Feely field goals followed by Mendenhall’s winning run.
The Lions tried to rally for a winning touchdown of their own, but were stopped on fourth down by Tyrann Mathieu – one of the former LSU safety’s six tackles on the day.
Tom Franklin and Mark Malone called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
