FOXBOROUGH, MA- The Patriots started the night well with a touchdown on their first drive, but poor weather and offensive miscues made their 13-10 victory against the New York Jets anything but easy.
Tom Brady reached his 50th game of throwing a touchdown pass when he connected with Aaron Dobson for a 39-yard score on their first series, but it was all downhill from there as the All-pro QB struggled to get on the same page with his new receivers. Brady ended the night 19 for 39 for 185 yards.
After the teams traded field goals and punts, a steady rain began in the second half and made things sloppy for both sides. The Jets capitalized on the ground with a three-yard touchdown run from Bilal Powell with five minutes left in the third quarter, but three fourth-quarter interceptions by quarterback Geno Smith doomed the Jets’ comeback chances.
Ian Eagle and Trent Green called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
