KANSAS CITY, MO – Seyi Ajirotutu’s only catch of the game was also the biggest as the fourth-year receiver hauled in Philip Rivers’ pass with :24 remaining in the fourth quarter to give San Diego a 41-38 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
For the game, Rivers was 27 of 39 for 392 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Mathews and Danny Woodhead added touchdown runs for the Chargers, who improved to 5-6 on the season.
The Chiefs lost for the second straight time after a 9-0 start, and perhaps more importantly lost star defenders Tamba Hali and Justin Houston to injury during the game.
