NEW YORK – Drexel led big early, but Arizona rallied behind the strong play of center Kaleb Tarczewski as the Wildcats secured a 66-62 victory in the first NIT Season Tip-Off semifinal at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
Tarczewski was 7 of 12 from the field for 15 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds. He was one of two Arizona players to have a double-double. Freshman Aaron Gordon scored 10 points and grabbed 13 boards, while Nick Johnson led the Wildcats in scoring with 20 points.
Drexel was led by Chris Fouch and Frantz Massenat, who combined for 46 of the Dragons’ 62 points. Fouch led all scorers with 29.
