FOXBORO, MA – On a frigid and windy night at Gillette Stadium, the New England Patriots rallied from a 24-point halftime deficit to down the Denver Broncos 34-31 in overtime.
After committing three turnovers and struggling throughout the first half, New England flipped the script in the second half, scoring 31 unanswered points after the break before Peyton Manning’s late TD pass to Demaryius Thomas tied the game.
In the extra session, both teams failed to move the ball much, but the Patriots got a big break when a punt hit a Denver player before being recovered by the Patriots. Three plays later, Stephen Gostkowski nailed the game-winning, 31-yard field goal.
Kevin Kugler and James Lofton called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
