SAN FRANCISCO – Phil Dawson’s 22-yard field goal with :31 left in the fourth quarter gave the San Francisco 49ers an important 19-17 victory over their NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, on Sunday at Candlestick Park.
Frank Gore’s long run on the final drive of the game set the 49ers up for the go-ahead field goal. The victory improved San Francisco to 9-4 and kept them a game ahead of Arizona for an NFC Wild Card spot. The loss dropped Seattle to 11-2 and means the Seahawks will have to wait at least another week to clinch a division title.
Tom McCarthy and Rod Woodson called the action on WestwoodOne Sports.
