WestwoodOne Sports at the XXII Olympic Winter Games

WestwoodOne SochiFrom the moment the Olympic Torch is lit, through the closing ceremony, WestwoodOne Sports will once again be on hand to provide exclusive in-depth coverage of the Olympic Winter Games. Sochi, Russia will host the world’s premier sporting event as top athletes compete for medals of gold, silver and bronze at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games.

WestwoodOne’s coverage begins January 6th with the first in a daily 32-part preview series of vignettes, one for each day leading up to the Sochi Games. Each vignette will air on radio stations nationwide and appear right here on WestwoodOneSports.com.

Once the Games begin on February 7th, we begin 17 consecutive days of round-the-clock coverage. Short reports will air three times an hour, 24 hours per day throughout the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Our nightly broadcast from Sochi, Today in Sochi, will wrap-up all the day’s action, plus include play-by-play from events, as well as previews and interviews from all the significant venues and disciplines. Hosted by John Tautges and Kevin Kugler, Today in Sochi will air each night from 9-11 PM Eastern on radio stations across the United States and on SiriusXM. Today in Sochi will debut on Friday, February 7th, and will air on 17 consecutive nights through Sunday, February 23rd.

U.S. OLYMPIC HOCKEY (Men’s and Women’s)

WestwoodOne Sports will provide separate, live play-by-play coverage of select Men’s Team USA hockey games. Our coverage begins on Thursday, February 13, 2014 as Team USA faces Slovakia in the first game of the Preliminary Round. WestwoodOne will then follow Team USA as far as they advance through the rest of the Olympic Games. All hockey games will also air on SiriusXM.

Regardless of the participants, the Men’s Gold Medal Game will be presented on February 23, 2014. WestwoodOne will also present the Women’s Gold Medal Game on Thursday, February 20, 2014.
