Olympic Interviews: Canada downs U.S. in OT

APTOPIX Sochi Olympics Ice Hockey WomenSOCHI, Russia – It was more disappointment in women’s ice hockey for Team USA as Canada rallied from a two-goal deficit in the final 3:26 of regulation to force overtime.

In the extra session, Canada’s Marie-Philip Poulin scored a power play goal to send the Canadians to their fourth consecutive gold medal.

The U.S. won the silver for the third time in four Olympics – the lone exception being a bronze in Torino in 2006. The Americans haven’t captured the gold since grabbing it in Nagano in 1998.

As everyone predicted, the women’s figure skating competition in PyeongChang came down to a pair of Russians: 15-year-old Alina Zagitova and 18-year-old Evgenia Medvedeva.
