Niels Giffey: From Berlin to the Final Four… Again


Halil KanacevicARLINGTON, TX – Whether it’s fans or players, a lot of people are making long journeys to be at the Final Four in North Texas. But maybe nobody’s was longer than that of UCONN senior Niels Giffey.

The native of Berlin, Germany first came to the United States in 2010 to suit up for the Huskies – and was rewarded with a national championship in his freshman year.

Of course, since then it’s been a series of ups and downs in Storrs, but Giffey and the rest of Connecticut’s seniors are definitely going out on a high.
