NEW YORK, NY – Austin Hollins led the way with 19 points as Minnesota topped SMU 65-63 to capture the NIT title in head coach Richard Pitino’s first season in charge of the Golden Gophers.
Andre Hollins added 14 points, while Deandre Mathieu dropped 13 added seven assists.
Nic Moore had 17 points to lead SMU.
