OMAHA, NE – The Vanderbilt Commodores won the CWS game 2 marathon and will advance into the winners bracket to face UC Irvine on Monday.
A combined 13 different players had hits off seven different pitchers in a game that lasted just under four hours. The Cardinals did fight back after trailing four to nothing through four innings, but they came up short in the 5-3 loosing effort. Louisville will also play again on Monday, but with elimination on the line, when they face Texas in the losers bracket.
