DENVER – Peyton Manning and Julius Thomas connected on three second-quarter touchdowns as the Denver Broncos held on to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 31-24 on Sunday night.
Manning was 22 of 36 on the night for 269 yards and those three scores. Montee Ball added a touchdown run, which made it 31-10 midway through the fourth quarter.
After that, however, the momentum changed and a pair of Indianapolis scores got the Colts to within a touchdown. As the clock was winding down, Andrew Luck drove his team into Denver territory but the Broncos finally stopped the Colts on fourth down to seal the victory.
Kevin Kugler and James Lofton called the action on Westwood One Sports.
