ANNAPOLIS, MD – Playing in their own building and in the inaugural edition of their own event, the Navy Midshipmen weren’t going to be embarrassed by their higher-profile opponents from the Big Ten.
Navy kept close with Michigan State throughout most of the game, eventually falling to the 18th-ranked Spartans 64-59.
Travis Trice led the way for Michigan State, scoring 25 points, and adding five rebounds and five assists. Three Midshipmen scored in double figures, led by Edward Alade’s 12 points.
