GLENDALE, AZ – In a thrilling finish, Malcolm Butler intercepted a Russell Wilson pass on the goal line as Seattle threatened to take the lead on New England in Super Bowl XLIX.
Tom Brady had, just moments earlier, connected with Julian Edelman to give the Patriots a 28-24 lead.
The win is the fourth Super Bowl crown for Brady and head coach Bill Belichick, the only QB-coach combo to accomplish that feat.
Brady was 37 of 50 for 328 yards and four touchdowns and was named the MVP for the third time. Brady joins Joe Montana as the only three-time Super Bowl MVPs.
