This Week in the NCAA: Changes to the NIT; A new sport is added

This Week in the NCAA 2014With the winter sports championships quickly approaching, there is some big news on the horizon that could affect the future of men’s basketball. The NIT next month will feature a pair of rules differences in an experimental trial. Most notably, the shot clock will be reduced from the current 35 seconds to 30. Also, the protected area under the basket will be extended by a foot.
