Louisville-NC State and Oklahoma-Michigan State Do Battle in Upstate New York

Site Preview SyracuseSYRACUSE, NY – With the top two seeds already knocked out, the “Wild, Wild” East Region is wide open for anyone’s taking.

The first Sweet Sixteen matchup in Syracuse features a high-riding 8th-seeded NC State squad going up against the 4th-seeded Louisville Cardinals.  Rick Pitino’s teams always feature stalwart and tenacious defense, but they will look to build off of the improved offensive effort from their 66-53 win over Northern Iowa in the Third Round.  Meanwhile, winners of five of their last six, Mark Gottfried’s Wolfpack are peaking at the right time and will be extremely confident coming into the Carrier Dome on the heels of the best win of the tournament.

In the night-cap, Tom Izzo’s 7th-seeded Spartans–entering the Sweet Sixteen as somewhat of a sleeper this year–will look to use their toughness to contain the superior quickness and athleticism of Lon Kruger’s 3rd-seeded Oklahoma Sooners.

Ian Eagle and P.J. Carlesimo will have the call for both games from the Carrier Dome
