EASTON, PA – The Leopards of Lafayette are back in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 15 years after defeating American University 65-63 in the Patriot League Championship Game on Wednesday night.
Nick Lindner led the way with 25 points and four assists on 9 of 13 shooting from the field.
Seth Hinrichs was the only other Lafayette player to crack double figures with 16 points on 7 of 8 shooting. As a team, the Leopards shot nearly 65%, but 18 turnovers kept American in the game.
Lafayette last went to the NCAAs in 2000, when they were a 15 seed and lost to Temple in an opening-round game.
Scott Graham and Kevin Grevey called the action on Westwood One Sports.
