PORTLAND, OR – Georgetown finally shed the monkey on their back and beat an opponent they were favored against in the tournament with their 84-74 victory against Eastern Washington. The Hoyas led by as much as 23 early in the second half before taking their foot off the gas and letting the Eagles back in the game, but held on to advance and face Utah on Saturday.
Tyler Harvey led all scorers with 27 for Eastern Washington, but with the Hoyas shooting over 50% from the field and nearly the same from behind the arc, it wasn’t enough to will his team into the next round.
Wayne Larrivee and Mike Montgomery called the action on Westwood One Sports.
