SEATTLE, WA – The 7th-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes got off to a fast start and then never looked back on their way to an 83-52 blowout of 10th-seeded Davidson.
Forward Aaron White carried the Hawkeyes early in the first half and finished with 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the field. Mike Gesell and Peter Jok added fifteen and twelve, respectively.
Jack Gibbs and Peyton Aldridge each had fourteen points for the Wildcats, who were hampered by uncharacteristically ineffectual outside shooting.
Kevin Calabro and P.J. Carlesimo called the action on Westwood One Sports.
