PITTSBURGH, PA – Down fourteen at the half, 8th-seeded North Carolina State clawed its way back and somehow came away with a win in the chaotic final moments, when BeeJay Anya emerged from a scramble situation to hit a game-winning turnaround-jump-hook with 0.1 seconds remaining to knock off 9th-seeded Louisiana State 66-65.
While Anthony Barber carried the Wolfpack with 17 points, the second-half story was the Tigers’ inability to convert from the free-throw line–going a combined 12-for-22 in the contest.
Jarerrell Martin and Jordan Mickey each recorded double-doubles to lead the way for LSU in the losing effort.
Scott Graham and Kevin Grevey called the action on Westwood One Sports.
