CHARLOTTE, NC – The Blue Devils preyed on a depleted Aztecs squad, as top-seeded Duke rolled over 8th-seeded San Diego State 68-49.
Steve Fisher’s team came into the game with several players and coaches battling a stomach bug, and they definitely appeared to be under a hundred percent, as they struggled to find answers for Duke’s freshman front-court attack. Center Jahlil Okafor displayed a variety of moves on his way to 25 points, and Justise Winslow contributed thirteen points, twelve rebounds, and five assists for the Blue Devils.
Winston Shepard led the Aztec effort with thirteen points.
Duke advances to face 5th-seeded Utah in the Sweet Sixteen on Friday.
