OMAHA, NE – Florida smacked four home runs – and put the smack down on in-state rivals Miami for a second time at this College World Series – as the Gators eliminated the Hurricanes with a 10-2 victory on Wednesday night.
Florida outscored Miami 25-5 over two games this week.
Harrison Bader started Wednesday’s game with a leadoff home run and Florida didn’t look back as Buddy Reed went yard later in the first inning for a 3-0 edge. Richie Martin and Peter Alonso also homered later in the game.
Florida will face Virginia on Friday, needing to beat the Cavaliers twice in a row to reach the best-of-three championship series.
